Overview:
Baseline out-of-bounds designed to establish a deep post-up for your 5, with multiple built-in counters for perimeter and high-low looks.
Why It Works
The early corner entry disguises the true intent, while stagger screens on both sides of the floor occupy all help defenders. The post-up comes after defensive coverage has been shifted, giving 5 prime position.
Key Teaching Points
Timing matters: 1’s swing pass must arrive just as 2 comes off the stagger.
5 must fight for inside position immediately after the stagger action.
4’s lift to the high post is critical to create the high-low passing lane.
If the post-up is denied, players must recognize and flow into skip or swing options without hesitation.
2 inbounds; 5 cuts to the strong-side corner to receive the inbound.
2 dives under the rim.
1 lifts to the strong wing and receives the swing pass from 5.
At the same time, 3 and 4 set a stagger for 2, who curls to the opposite wing and receives from 1.
Immediately, 3 and 4 set a second stagger for 5, who ducks into the deep post.
4 lifts to the high post, 3 clears to the weak corner.
Reads: deep post-up to 5, high-low to 4, or skip pass to 3
