Overview:
Entry into the continuity zone offense that begins with a direct high-post feed, designed to trigger the automatic dive and flow seamlessly into the X Games pattern.
Why It Works
Feeding the high post immediately forces the zone to collapse, opening a dive to the rim and creating high-low opportunities. Once the ball is swung out, the continuity takes over, keeping the defense rotating and stretched.
Key Teaching Points
The high-post catch must come at the elbow, not too high or too low.
5 must dive hard to the rim on the entry to draw the middle defender.
Perimeter players must shift on time to balance the floor for the reversal.
Flow directly into the continuity without hesitation — no dead stops.
Start in a 1–4 high alignment: 1 top, 4 left elbow, 5 right elbow, 2 right wing, 3 left wing.
1 enters the ball to 4 at the high post.
On the catch, 5 immediately dives to the front of the rim.
1 cuts through to the opposite deep wing, with 2 lifting into the slot to replace.
From there, flow directly into the continuity: post dive-and-replace, short-corner actions, and ball reversal.
