Overview:
Baseline out-of-bounds that frees 4 (shooter) for a catch-and-shoot three in the strong-side corner using a screen-the-screener sequence after a decoy stagger to the top.
Why It Works
The initial movement pulls defenders toward the top and through the lane, then flips their responsibilities: 2 (who just used a screen) immediately turns to screen for 4, catching tag/help late and leaving the corner unguarded for a quick inbound three.
Key Teaching Points
Inbounder (3) must be patient: don’t pass until 4’s defender is engaged on the decoy.
2’s screen for 4 must be firm and inside the arc; angle the screen to open the corner, not the wing.
4 waits a half-beat, then sprints to the corner on a tight line—feet set on the catch.
1 must run the decoy stagger hard to the top to pull both top defenders.
Align low 1–4: 3 inbounding left baseline; 4 (shooter) in strong corner; 1 left block; 2 right block; 5 weak-side corner.
2 curls up through the elbows off a cross from 4; simultaneously 1 fills the baseline corner vacated by 4.
1 continues to the top off a stagger from 2 and 4 as a decoy to pull coverage.
Immediately, 2 turns and screens for 4 (screen-the-screener).
4 sprints back to the strong-side corner for the inbound pass from 3 and the catch-and-shoot three.
Counter: if 4 is overplayed, 2 can slip the screen to the rim for a layup.
